I used the wet embossing technique to create a pearlised tone on tone background using the same stamp as for my focal image which I have paper pieced with an assortment of yellow cardstock.
Recipe
Stamp Penny black 4104K Christmas Star.
Inks Memento Tuxedo Black (image); VersaMark watermark stamp pad with Stampendous White Pearls Embossing Powder (background); Black Soot & Mustard Seed Distress Inks (inking some cardstock edges).
Colouring Letraset Fine Line Drawing Pen & Uni-ball Eye Needle Point Black Pen; Stickles Glitter Glue (Black Diamond).
Cardstock An assortment of blacks, whites & yellows in various textures & finishes from stash.
Punches Woodware (corner rounder & butterfly), EK Success (Fancy Photo Corner).
The yellow gems & the white pearl are from stash.

i love it...so bold and lovely all at once:)...thinking you would have been a great graphic or textile designer...you seem to love the elements of design-- lines, patterns, placement, etc. loving those little butterflies too:)...like pieces of confetti-- yup, loving those!

Well had to pop on and say HI, I have not been around blogging much ( loads a going on at the mo..
But this card is just so beautiful. Loving the yellow, so bright and I just adore the embossing, still amazes me now years on seeing it change.

This is stunning Paula, love it! The paper piecing gives a lovely 3D effect and the tone on tone embossing together with the black butterflies are very elegant. This card is very inspiring.

Hello again Paula, so nice to see you back with us again at Penny Black at Allsorts. What a pretty, fresh and bright card. I would not have thought to colour a Poinsettia in shades of yellow. It works beautifully, especially next to Black.

I had never heard of wet embossing before either :)
Its great play with some different techniques and styles of card-making too. I love heat embossing, you can creat some fantastic backgrounds.
I really like how you have stamped and embossed over the edge, and yet made just one of them the main image in the middle, with a fabulous centre.
Glorious sunshine colours too.
