Poetry Pieces Pretty in Pinks

Collages of Alphatags to date can be viewed HERE.

This is not what I originally had in mind but the usual morphing process occurred during the making of my "P" Baroque Guild Alphatag. The words from Keats are actually taken from two different poems (hence the 'pieces'):

Beauty is truth, truth beauty.
from Ode on a Grecian Urn

A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
from Endymion

The non-gardener might use the terms 'pinks' & 'carnations' synonymously but the two are actually genetically different (for those who are interested HERE is a discussion of the specific differences). Anyhow, to cut a long story short, my background flowers are 'pinks' as well as my colour scheme being pink. It wasn't until I came to assembling the tag that I realised that I'd also used a pin.

nauture of pink ink used for tone on tone stamping

The pink colour is extremely difficult to photograph correctly. I have edited to the best of my ability but the colours above seem rather more yellow in places than they are in real life.

The metallic backing of the 'Crystal Effects' sticker is a piece of aluminium foil & the rosette was made using the Decorative Strip Die detailed below.

Recipe
Stamps Chocolate Baroque UDLSP0097 A Thing of Beauty (sentiment) & UDLSP0320 Fresh Florals (floral images).

Cardstock Moondust black & an assortment of pinks from stash.
Paper Graphicus Guild Membership Pack.
Dies Sizzix Movers & Shapers L Die - Tag & Bookplates, Sizzix Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die - Mini Paper Rosettes.

Yet again you've come up with some wonderful alliteration with your title for this beautiful tag. Brought back memories of the wonderful perfume of pinks which grew in abundance in the garden when I was a child (and that was many, many moons ago). Clever use of the pieces of poetry as well - that die is magic when it comes to making rosettes and is one of my favourites.

Again a perfectly executed tag with wonderful attention to detail. I love pinks, they are one of my favourite flowers with a wonderful scent. I love the crisp background stamping and the great tone on tone stamping on the reverse too. I often forget the great impact of these inks and mine are underused! Whoever, gets this lovely tag will be completely delighted. Elaine x

Hello Paula,

Well I absolutely love this piece, soft pink look lovely and the sentiment embossed with silver on to vellum provides lovely contrast.

As you might guess, I am using my new word recognition system and I am pleased to report so far so good.

I received my very first Chocolate Baroque stamps yesterday, believe it or not I have never purchased any before although I did have quite a few from Glenda previously.

I'm sure you can already tell the problem that is going to occur with this new word system, I can talk for England and my comments seem to be extending.

I hope you have a lovely weekend, dare we hope for some sunshine? Despite being promised some today it's pouring.

I'm now off to your other site because I don't think I ever got to sign up to it.

Fabulous tag Paula.
I think you covered the 'P' theme excellently!
My Gran was a wonderful gardener and visiting her home was a joy, and amongst the vegetables she grew were also a vast array of plants and flowers and I always loved the Pinks the most.
Beautifully embellished..with the perfect balance.

Love Elaine xxx

I haven't seen any pinks for years and they do have such a lovely perfume (Ha! another P there). This is a really pretty tag Paula and the pink embossing is lovely. I love that crystal effects sticker on the rosette (I have that very useful die too).

Hugs
