The Penny Black Reader Challenge this week is to create a card based on a TEAL, ORANGE & PURPLE colour scheme. I've used the stamp that I received when my name was picked from commenting on the Penny Black Blog although I did remove the antennae as I thought Mimi was better without them for this construction inspired by Joanne Wardle's Craft Stamper April 2011 Floating Fronts project (page 52). I had a few false starts (binned) using sketches prior to settling on this card format this morning so between a trip to Cardiff for some Apple computer training last Friday (I shall be moving my blog to Apple's iWeb/MobileMe) & the Chepstow Artstamps South Wales Craft Show yesterday plus my head misbehaving with a cluster of migraines I've ended up getting this done just before the deadline.

Recipe
Stamp Penny Black 4119J Love Antennae
Inks Memento Tuxedo Black (image); Chipped Sapphire, Dried Marigold & Dusty Concord Distress Inks (for inking cardstock & paper edges).
Colouring Derwent Coloursoft pencils with paper stumps & Sansodor, Inkssentials White Opaque Pen, Stickles Glitter Glue (Waterfall & Black Diamond).
Cardstock An assortment in various colours & finishes from stash.
Paper Dovecraft Designer Paper Pack - Kate Knight Aquamarine Floral Prints.
Punches Woodware (circles & scalloped circle, tag), Nellie Snellen (leaves).
The jewelled glittery flowers are from stash.

Wow Paula - I have never seen one of these shaped cards before! :) Its so 3d and totally original looking.

Cute image - you have coloured her so sweetly and great colours on the card too.

Fab details with the tags, glitter and die cuts/punchies. Super card.

Good luck with the challenge

..oh and yeah, I was blown away with the LOTV card - about £5 for 50 A5 sheets, its been brilliant. Not so good for digis tho, unless you are happy to wait a week for it to totally dry. :)

what an deceivingly clever card - at first glance I thought she was in an aperture, but I see what you've done now.
not the easiest colour scheme to work with but you've done it perfectly.

What an interesting card...not seen one like it. You definitely picked the perfect image, as she seems to be hovering over and out of the cardstock!...Love what you did with the colors-- which aren't ones that are easy to use together...It's bold and lovely all at once:)...

Good luck on your challenges!...xo:)

Hi Paula - hope the head's behaving a little better!! Just trying to do a quick round of commenting before packing my case ready for the off tomorrow morning. Fabulous card, I love the design and the lavender colours. Gorgeous little image and how appropriate you have her floating and so beautifully.
