The pale mat on the base cardstock which appears pinkish in the photos is actually a pale yellow, for some reason that  colour does not photograph true.

The Sugar Nellie Forum Challenge #17 is "Summer". I have used Emma Lockley's sketch from the Sketch Saturday Challenge Wk #115 & the colours are those in my back garden (see photo) on a summer's day in August (8th August 2010).

Inks etc.... Memento Tuxedo Black (image), ColorBox Pheasant Gold for sponging raised surfaces of embossed cardstock, & Pine Needles Distress Ink for inking all cardstock edges.

Colouring Copic Ciaos, Letraset Black Fine Line Drawing Pen, Inkssentials White Opaque Pen, Stickles Glitter Glue (Green).

Cardstock Dark & bright green, pale yellow & white from "stash".

Punches. Diets etc.... EK Success (corner rounder), Spellbinders Nestabilities (Large Deckled Rectangles, Classic Scallloped Ovals Large & Classic Ovals Large), Fiskars Edging Scissors (Deckle).

This is my second entry for the Tickled Pinks Stamps Challenge #3 using the sketch provided, this time with the Christmas theme of the Lil Lilita Boutique Challenge #8. The image reminds me of Audrey Hepburn or Barbra Streisand, & they in turn the movies "Breakfast at Tiffany's" or "Funny Girl".

ETA - Now how did I manage to get the inside of my card looking as if the paper is about to detach itself from the cardstock & the right hand side is longer than the left? I used a tripod.......oh dear!

The Sugar Bowl Challenge #40 involves selecting a sketch from the gallery of previous challenge sketches whilst the the Sugar Nellie Forum Challenge #16 is "Blue". Using the sketch from Challenge #19 with the Blue theme I made a Christmas Card as I wanted to use the Sugar Nellie Manga Baubles image.

Trying to photograph the combination of glaze, Mirri card & glitter in the sunshine or using flash had me almost going dotty (never mind the Simon Says Stamp Challenge) - I must have taken over 50 photos.

Let's Ink It Up - New Challenge Blog Sept 5th

Being something of a traditionalist (with exceptions) I was pleasantly surprised when I came across a new Challenge Blog - LET'S INK IT UP - focussing upon the use of rubber or clear stamps. The first challenge (5th Sept) will run for a month & thereafter a new challenge will be announced twice monthly. For Followers there is some candy on offer & until 8th August a Design Team Call.

It is with a sense of privilege & delight that I am making this post for it is my first as a member of the Whiff of Joy Challenge Blog Design Team.  

Whiff of Joy Challenge #84 has the theme of "Fuzz". This involves incorporating anything "fuzzy" (felt, Flower Soft, flock etc.......) into a project made using a Whiff of Joy image. 

I covered the flowers in the basket Willow is carrying & the eggs of the Easter Basket accessory stamp (from the same Spring 2009 Stamp Kit) with Flower Soft & was really thrilled with the dimensional tactile effect this created. I also used an assortment of felt flowers to further embellish the project. Prior to this assignment I'd not really considered how versatile Flower Soft is, nor how sophisticated an effect could be achieved using the texture of felt. I had always associated the medium of felt with themes related to children so this project proved quite a revelation for me.

For further examples of how to interpret this "Fuzzy" theme have a look at what the rest of the Design Team have created.

Challenge 15 of the Sugar Nellie Forum is to make a card for a child. I used Lilian's Sugar Bowl Challenge #39 sketch & included the blue optional theme. I have made a card intended for a little girl who is just learning to swim or even going on holiday to the seaside for the first time - an encouragement or "Thinking of You" card. It could equally be used for a girl's Summer birthday card.

The Whiff of Joy Challenge #83 is a sketch by Bev Rochester. I have turned the sketch 90 degrees clockwise to suit my image &, wanting to make it look as if Melinda has been surprised by the butterfly whilst reading, I moved the central panel slightly  to the left to allow space for the butterfly. The butterfly was made using a Cuttlebug cutting die & embossing folder set & then inking the raised edges. The embossed panel decorating the inside was similarly inked.

Inks etc... Memento Tuxedo Black (image). Brilliance Lightning Black & Rocket Red were used for inking all cardstock edges, the latter also being used for sponging the butterfly & red embossed panel inside.
