Ornate Ovate Ornithology Alphatag

Collages of Alphatags to date can be viewed HERE.

As I've been  interested in birds ever since childhood & Chocolate Baroque have some delightful bird images, ornithology seemed a logical choice for my "O" Baroque Guild Alphatag. I'm particularly drawn to the stamps of patterned birds (like those I have used) so ornate was easy to incorporate & eggs are ovate. The idea of an orchard is implied by the leaves in the patterned paper & my top right leaf cluster.

The brick wall was created by sponging Distress Ink through a template, misting & drying the panel. It was then cut out & the individual bricks were defined & shaped using various sizes of ball tool. The  shaping of the large bird was also achieved using a ball tool.

Challenges Entered
Stampalot July Challenge - What's your Crafty Passion?  I love using the techniques of paper piercing & tone on tone stamping. I also like to add dimension by shaping elements using a ball tool on an embossing mat as I did here with the large bird, the brickwork & the leaf cluster.
Judith's Forgotten Friday 60 The patterned birds stamp set Fly Away With Me has never been used since it was purchased in November 2011.

Just love your way with words and yet again you've come up with words not even on my list for the letter O. Another beautiful tag.

A lovely tag again Paula. I love the patterned eggs and birds, and the way you get such amazing shaping with a ball tool, I really must try that as I am always wanting to add more shape to some of my elements. Jean x

Wow, amazing crafting Paula. I am very impressed with the embossing of the bricks, I take the lazy route with a brick embossing folder! Great attention to detail as always, a very thoughtful and skilled composition. Have a happy Sunday. Elaine xxx

Another fabulous and detailed tag Paula.
I love birds too, we have a vast array of visitors to the back garden though we also have a very naughty pussy that likes to stalk them! We bought her a very large bell for on her collar so the birds know when she's around!

Beautiful colours, and the dimension on the larger bird is perfect.

Love Elaine xx

Hi Paula, before I go any further, I am trying not to get involve with Zentagles - they are more involved like 'Pentacles' and take me over when I do!!! I will only be interested near you simply to save my sanity!!
Your tag is delightful, your colours are beautiful and I love your details and your dimension is sensational!!! I love the little birdy sat on the stunning embossed O.
