Bildmålarna Rooster

Bildmålarna stamps have kept appearing in my line of vision over the past year & though I saw the physical stamps at the NEC last November I had other priorities at the time so made no purchase. This Swedish company's images have beguiled me again & this time I decided to investigate their blog. Finding that they run their own challenges & coming across some Bildmålarna stamps in the UK at Bunny Zoe's Crafts whilst buying some birthday presents for a friend this project is the result.

Bildmålarna Challenge 4 is to make a box using a Bildmålarna image. I have a little Scor-Buddy so headed off to the  Scor-Pal web site in search of something suitable. Seeing the instructions for a little Favor Box I decided it would be the perfect container for a Cadbury's Creme Egg (here in the UK chocolate eggs are exchanged at Easter). The result was so much more accurate, quicker & easier than when using a ruler with pencil & bone folder/ball tool that my husband suggested I get myself the full size Scor-Pal.

The rooster image was the perfect fit for my heart punch, but every time I use this punch (despite umpteen punchings of foil) the result has an obvious nick in the edge. My eye alighted on a neglected Tim Holtz Distressing Tool (I've never got on with distressing apart from the inking type) & I had a go - a few false starts but I'm really rather pleased with the result after inking my carefully "distress tooled"  edges. You might even see me doing this again!

Fabulous Paula!
I've never tried to make anything but cards (and an occasional envelope.) Your little bag is simply perfect and a fabulous gift idea.
Love the little rooster and the distressing.

Hi Paula

I really like this stamp; so totally appropriate for a creme egg! Just what I'd like for Easter :) I'm not great at 3D challenges, I tend to stick to cards - but you've done a brilliant job on this.

a fabulous little gift bag Paula, and love that rooster. You wont regret getting the full size board if you like making projects - I have both but mainly use the mini one as I like to keep my cards and projects quite small. I must look up the tutorial for the bag you used.

Hi Paula, this is a lovely project. Your distressing is fab. I love how you have coloured with your Derwents and sansodor, something I haven't tried yet but keep looking at Prismacolors and uhmming and ahhing. Think I'll stick with my Promarkers for a while 'cos I know if I get something else they'll become redundant. -x-

Fantastic creation Paula, love the colours and beautifully made little gift tote, and I love how you've fastened it. That rooster is something special and your distressing tooled and inked is fabulous. I have a couple of punches and dies that don't cut cleanly, should have sent them back from the start I suppose, but failing that distressing is definitely the way to go!!

Oh Paula what a gorgeous little treat box! I love the rooster...how adorable! I better see you using your Tim Holtz distress tool and ink again as your distressing is gorgeously done....you are pro at it!!!! This is such a fabulous gift idea. I need to to go to the Scor-Pal site and get some ideas...I just use my scor-pal to score my cards in half and I know I could get so much better use of it than that! Thanks so much for the inspiration, hun!
Hope you have a lovely weekend! Sorry,I don't get by to visit as much as I would like, with working full-time, the kids, house work, and carfting there just aren't enough hours in the day, sigh! I really appreciate all you lovely comments that you leave me, hun. You are a sweetie!
